A jacket, trousers and a matching waistcoat, all cut from the same cloth. The waistcoat is what separates it from a two piece. It gives a more formal, more finished look, and it means you stay properly dressed when the jacket comes off.
Our quoted prices start at $799 for a two piece, and the waistcoat is quoted on top of that. The amount depends on the fabric you have chosen, since the waistcoat is cut from the same cloth. Weddings, formal daytime events and any occasion where you will remove the jacket but still need to look dressed. Grooms often choose three piece for exactly that reason, since the reception runs long. For everyday office wear a two piece is more practical, though a three piece in a lighter cloth works well in winter.
Four to six weeks, the same as a two piece. The waistcoat is cut and constructed alongside the jacket and trousers rather than added afterwards, so it does not extend the timeline. Priority orders can usually be accommodated if you need it sooner.
Matching is the traditional and safest choice, and it is what most grooms and business clients select. A contrasting waistcoat is a deliberate style decision that works well when the rest of the outfit is restrained, for example a plain grey suit with a subtle patterned waistcoat. We will show you both against your chosen cloth at the consultation.
It is measured at the same appointment as the jacket and trousers, with particular attention to the chest and the waist, because a waistcoat shows every fault a jacket would hide. At the final fitting we check that it sits flat with no pulling at the buttons and that it covers the trouser waistband when you move. Adjustments are made on the spot.
