Top Tailored Suit Trends in 2019

Trend is a mighty beast and on the same hand a sneaky chameleon. Before you know it, the newly stitched custom suit with bold patterns, wide lapels that you brought home with so much love, turns out to be the style of the bygone era. All the effort, time, and the huge amount of investment that you had made on it is flushed down the drain.

We assure you, we aren’t dragging you to that pit. We bring to you some eye-catching trends of this year 2019, that are surely here to stay.

1. The Smart-Casual

Who told you that the double-breasted suit is only for the senior bankers, and the men in the corporate world? Now the youngsters are teaming it up with sneakers and washed out jeans to give a funky look with streetstyle wear. The key here is to balance high and low, to balance the exact flavours of the smart and the casual.

2. Oversized Suit

Wearing a suit far larger than your size is the ongoing trend right now. And no, it’s not just about buying a suit 3 or 4 sizes bigger than yours. The suit is stitched in the proportions of your fit, but with more room and length. The plus? You can always get it altered to your size when you don’t feel like doing it anymore or the trend goes old.

3. Brown is in Town

The colour brown has its own set of advantages. Its shade is such that it goes well with formal occasions and aligns good to casual events as well. Sharp V-necks and graphic designs are things which are part of the trend right now. Some folks are even not wearing anything beneath their suits and surprisingly it gives a fantastic hip look as well. For those of you who don’t want to go that bold, you can always try brown suits paired up with funky light shade t-shirts.

This trend is brought to the forefront by the diehard fans of Ryan Gosling, who rocked the brown suit in the movie La La Land.

4. 50 Shades of Grey, Or 50 Shades Darker?

When it comes to pairing your suit with the right shirt, what comes to your mind when it comes to the colours and shades? We know, you know, matching them up with contrasts, dark shades complemented with lighter hues. Dark suits match well with pastel hued shirts, isn’t it? Well, what if we tell you that this isn’t always the case? Yes, you heard it correct.

From Ryan Gosling we now bump into Ryan Reynolds. He rocks the tone-on-tone look perfectly. The trick here is to match up the lighter and darker shades of the same colour through the different components of your suiting. Don’t believe us? Try wearing a dark grey or a charcoal grey dress shirt underneath a suit coloured in the lighter shade of grey.

6. Go Wide or Go Home

We know, we know. You are used to wearing skinny or fit trousers all this while. Wouldn’t the wide leg feel too shabby? Wouldn’t it look awkward? We guarantee you, that if you get it tailored the right way, it would look as amazing. The USP of this look is, it would make you look more streamlined. If you still don’t want to go all the way in, just try some narrower straight cuts or more relaxed ones and see how it goes.
